1958 Vintage Wooden Runabout inboard
Description
Thank you for taking the time to look at this ad for my boat. This is a hand built wood runabout completed and first registered in 1958. It was built in Western NY and that is where it spent its entire life, fishing the waters of Lake Erie. I found it in a state of slight disrepair having sat in the back of a barn untouched for more then 35 years. When I brought it home I stripped the white paint from the hull and brought it down to bare wood. I then stained and varnished it. Just a couple light coats, so it's not a mirror finish by any means. But with a little elbow grease, she will shine bright again. The top deck was badly beat up from years as a storage shelf inside the barn. I fabricated a new Mahogany Plywood Upper Deck and sealed it with West System Epoxy and a single coat of varnish for UV protection. Again, some more layers of varnish would do the old girl wonders. The inside has received a splash coat of white marine paint to freshen it up. As far as the motor, it came from a 1950's era Austin Martin Devon. The owners manual for it was under the front seat. I have done nothing with the motor so I won't make any promises about its state. There is no rot at all that I was able to detect and I really rooted around checking it out.
The trailer (included) is not road worthy. It will need to be placed on a flat bed trailer or a good boat trailer of your choosing and expense. I will include the paperwork that is photographed. I don't know if that is enough for you to register it in your location.
The boat is is about 15'6" and the boat/trailer combo is about 17'6"
Come give this old girl the home she deserves.
The boat is view able by appointment.
