How did it flood? 2" Through Valve failure from previous repair with a non-marine grade valve.
How high was the water, and what was the damage? The water got in up to 4' in the engine room and lower cabins. All carpets and mattress have been removed from the lower cabins. Air conditioning unit does not appear to work. Dryer and washing machine have been removed. DC power circuit blown. AC power circuit condition unknown. No physical water damage to the wood or flooring.
What was done to return the engines to functionality? The engines were pickled with 20 gallons of diesel.. Removed injectors and removed water from engines. Starters and alternators were repaired as well.
Do the engines turn over? Yes, however the engines do not crank. Once the engines were repaired from the engine room flooding, the boat was placed back into the water in Ft. Walton Beach, FL and was taken under its own engine power to Pensacola, FL where upon turning off the engines, they did not crank again once turned off. The reason for this is unknown.
Can the slip be assumed? Yes, the slip cost is $196 per month, but the slip does not have electricity.
Does the slip it is at have a boat lift? No, but there are several slips nearby the boat can be towed to that have boat lifts.
