Description

Relisting due to a non-paying bidder... "tnmtbird"... Thanks Maddy!
I purchased this boat on a whim in the spring of 2014, but I don't have time to sail or the vehicle to get to a lake that would be worthwhile. So, I've decided that it's time to pass it on to someone that will actually use it. It had a permit through 2015 when I bought it, so it appears that it was on the water fairly recently when I acquired it. That said, I had it delivered here and other than towing it to storage and back, it hasn't been moved or on the water.
Now for the fun stuff! Looks pretty good for a 1978. The hull looks good. The deck has typical crazing of the fiberglass and a few stains in the cockpit. The fiberglass is a little dull, but shines right up on the spots where I've tried it. The 3 sails look pretty good with no rips or tears that I saw when I laid them out and folded them properly. The mast and boom look straight and the mast is wired for something extra (there was an old two--way radio in it that I removed, perhaps that's it... maybe extra lights). The rudder is in decent shape and has an extension on the handle for hiking the boat. I'm guessing that it was rigged for single-handed sailing.
In the cabin, the cushions are all in very good shape. There is a faucet and water tank (untested). There is also a porta-potty (also untested - thankfully). There is a custom electrical panel setup and extra wiring to the base of the mast.
The trailer is an EZloader 5.2. It pulled great from WI to MI two years ago and when I pulled the boat out of storage this spring (hope springs eternal). It has working lights and has some added on features as well.
****UPDATED REGISTRATION INFO - I HAVE THE WI REGISTRATION/TITLE FOR THE BOAT! IT IS SIGNED OVER FROM THE ORIGINAL OWNER TO THE DEALER FROM WHOM I BOUGHT THE BOAT, AND THEN HAS MY NAME LISTED (AND A SPACE TO ADD THE NEXT OWNER. I believe that this should make getting a title/registration fairly straightforward in most places. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. I'll see if I can add a picture of the title today sometime***
Boats under 20' are not titled in Michigan. Since I never got it on the water, it still has the WI registration number and tag on it. I will provide you with a Bill of Sale (notarized if you'd like) AND a copy of the paperwork from when I bought the boat & trailer in 2014. I believe that those two things should get you taken care of in most states, but please make sure that you know what you'll need and understand what I'm able to provide for you as listed above.
There is a very active Mariner Class Association, with lots of knowledgeable folks. Check 'em out if you aren't familiar with these awesome, easy to sail, stable yet loads of fun boats! You'll see why they are still making them today!
This is a nearly 40 year old boat. I don't know the age of the trailer. As I've said, I have never had this near water, so I cannot vouch for its seaworthiness. Everything listed in this auction and anything that I forgot to list that comes with the boat (like the anchor and swim ladder)... all of it is sold "AS IS, WHERE IS" with no warranty written or implied. If you would like to inspect this boat, trailer and any of the elements of this auction, you are welcome to do so PRIOR to bidding. Contact me through Ebay and we can arrange that for you.
These items will need to be removed within two weeks from the end of the auction, or by September 1st, 2016... whichever is earlier.
I think that with a little TLC and a bit of elbow grease, someone could have a very nice trailer-sailer combo and enjoy many hours of fun on the water.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
Thanks for looking and happy sailing!
