Resisted due to interest, I added some pictures and will try to answer some of your questions with a more detailed description. I did drop the price a bit but really don't have any incentive to go any lower. Project boat! Serious buyers only please! This boat is selling at a quarter to a third of its cost (do your research) due to the fact that the keel bolts need replacing and it has been on hard for 2 years now. I searched many months to find this boat when I was buying but am sadly now too busy for a major refit and project. If you have the skills this is a lifetime deal. Again, please make an honest assessment of your ability to take on such a project. I want this boat to be sailed! The boat has crossed to Atlantic twice already and could quickly be ready to do so again. Built in South Africa these boats are hard to find and I have seen articles claiming they may be the most circumnavigated boat ever produced. Available in central Florida

I have only heard praise for the Miura, from all the right people. I once heard the Miura being described as the VW Beetle of the oceans – it is solid, goes anywhere, inexpensive, and quite round! It is however relatively more sophisticated than a Beetle I have to say. The name Miura derives from the Spanish word for “fighting bull” as I understand – Berckemeyer named several boats with Spanish names originally.

The Miuras were designed by Oswald Berkemeyer, it yielded a beautiful small yacht, inexpensive and simple, capable of sailing anywhere, and rugged as they come.
