This original bottom beauty spent its life in fresh water on Lake Minnetonka until being moved toDetroit in recent years. Super Sports were styled similarly toAmerican cars of the era and advertised with space-age styling, stability, and responsiveness. I've owned the boat for four years and it comes withinvoicesdocumentingover $30k in restoration costs since 2002. It has 528 hours of operation, no current issues and is sold with a trailer and custom cover along witha clear Michigan title.The hull was stripped and mahoganyreplaced where necessary in 2002, while new stain, varnish, and paint were applied in 2003. Later work involved replacement of one bottom plank followed bysanding,recaulking, andrepainting in 2015. Chrome trim has beenreplaced along with new side scriptsand avariety of fasteners and hardware. The two-tone interior wasreupholstered in 2003 with materials similar to original. The front bench seat was further redonein 2015.Original-style instruments are housedin a turned aluminum and upholstereddash, while a more modern radio with cassette player and speakers are mounted below.Controls include automotive style knobs and a factory automotive style three-spoke steering wheel. Aflag, pennant, and bow pole stow under the rear seat when not in use.Power is from an inboard 327F cubic inch Chevrolet V8 thatis original to the boat. Afour-barrel carburetor draws from a fuel pump that wasrebuilt in 2015, and anew water pump impeller has also been fitted. The engine wears the original coat of blue paint. The transmission’s shift control box was rebuilt in 2015.Documentation includes restoration receipts from the last15years. Labor costs for the refurbishment are detailed as well as installation of miscellaneous items including two new bilge pumpsinsummer 2016. The boat also comes with a trailer as well as a custom-fitted cover procured in 2016 at acost of $1,750. I'vetried to give the most accurate and complete description possible.
