1964 chris craft super sport 17 wooden speed boat only 300 orig hrsrestored
Description
This 1964 Chris Craft Super Sport was stored in my parents' horse barn from 1974 to 2009, near Fort Wayne, IN. After my parents both passed, I put her elsewhere for storage. During 18 months from 2013 to 2015, she was under restoration in Syracuse, IN near Lake Wawasee. I finally drove her on Wawasee last summer, when I turned her factory 210 HP, 327 F engine to 300 ORIGINAL HOURS. She runs great and is still a baby at 52 years old. Late last year I moved to Florida, and I cannot bear the thought of making her a salt boat. So she remains in northern Indiana in storage with the man who restored her for me. As I do not plan to spend much time up north to enjoy and justify keeping her, I have begrudgingly decided to sell to someone who can appreciate the treasure that she is and ENJOY her. All those years in the corner of a damp barn served her well. Her hull remains original (not one plank went bad) and is tight. The seat covers and interior bumper were re-upholstered to spec, but the remainder of the interior and deck is original. She has a new snap cover with drapes to the water to protect from sun. The engine was repaired and runs great. (Details can be provided for those with serious inquiries.) She has clean title. She is missing factory flags and stern pole light (replacement light included is not spec). Her horn is not presently working. Otherwise, she is like new and awaiting an owner who can enjoy her for years to come. Also included is a flatbed trailer (no title) and her factory cradle (which remains in original, solid shape). If you want a great boat with a wonderful story and sentimental value, this is your gal. Please feel free to contact me if you are seriously interested. (Short 2015 video running on water available as well.) PLEASE NOTE THAT BOAT IS CURRENTLY STORED OUT OF WATER AND IS "WINTER-PREPPED". If you wish to perform a water test as a condition of purchase, that is fine. It can be prepped for floating of $200, plus lift fees, at buyer's expense. if you choose not to purchase the boat after testing, you will need to pay an additional $200 to re-prep it for winter storage. Thank you!
