1999 - Boston Whaler 18 Outrage for sale. Boat is a center console with a distinctive bow and deep-vee hull. The bow is rounded near the deck and is sharp at entry, with lifting strakes. A bow rail runs half way down the sides, following the even sheer that ends at a reverse transom. This is typical Boston Whaler construction of foam-fiberglass sandwhich with Whaler’s unique Unibond technique making the boat unsinkable. The boat is powered by a single Yamaha (year 2000) 200 HP HPDI two stroke engine. Fuel capacity is 90 gallons. I recommend and always used Yamaha two stroke engine oil for clean dependable operation. The boat comes complete with a T-Top, Sony Stereo with CD/Remote Control. There is storage in the T-Top for life jackets. Last summer, I replaced the seals on the fuel tank’s sending unit and had all new (6) reed valves installed in the motor. Total cost was over $3,000.
Total time on engine is 547 hours with less than an hour after the rebuild with new reed valves. This boat flies on the water, capable of reaching 45 knots on flat water. Included in the purchase is a duel axle aluminum trailer with all new wheels and tires (less than 100 miles). There is a Garmin 740s Chart plotter with fish finder and sonar which will get you where you’re going. Also included is an I-Com marine radio. The boat has ample seating and will comfortably carry 4-6 adults (according to Boston Whaler, max capacity is 8 adults per the coast guard plaque). Beam width is 8’2”, so it feels much larger than most 18 foot boats. This boat was winterized last year and is stored indoors at a local Yacht club in Clinton, Connecticut. The boat has never been bottom painted and never kept in the water more than an overnight. She is stored indoors when not in use (winter and summer). This boat needs nothing but a new owner. A change in my job means I have no time to use her. She is turnkey and ready to fish. Leaning post for maximum deck access. Two marine batteries, plenty of rocket launchers, ample LED spreader lights, deck LED lighting. Live well and fish lockers in the floor.
I will do my best to answer all questions you have. The boat is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction if a buyer comes along. Again, this is a Boston Whaler. And the Outrage is one of the boat maker’s best center console models. There is plenty of season left for fishing. I really thought I’d get to use her more than I have. I bought the boat in 2013 from a seller in Pennsylvania and moved the boat to Connecticut.
If you are a local buyer and would like to keep the boat in Connecticut, I am also selling a storage rack (rack-a-minium?). Basically, like a dockaminium, you own the rack. The rack will hold a larger boat, up to 29 feet for future use if you upgrade your boat. When you’re ready to boat, call ahead one hour and the association will drop your boat in for you. When you’re done, simply lower your antenna and tie up at the “rack” docks and the association will put your boat away in your rack. Again, this is indoor storage so your boat isn’t sitting in the sun or on the water for days on end when you’re not using it. There is a club house and heated pool for members who own units. So you are getting quite a bit for your money. Of course, there are monthly condo fees and quarterly dredge fees involved and I’d be happy to go over that with anyone interested. The name of the Yacht Club is “Clinton Yacht Haven.” Currently, I have taken the boat home for the convenience of being able to show the boat on demand.
The boat is really clean and is ready to go. The only thing it needs is a new owner. I am pricing the boat very reasonably (I think), but will entertain reasonable offers. I’m asking $16,900 for the boat with trailer and electronics (which is a steal) and another $4,000 (anyone is interested in the rack). If you are a local buyer interested in both, I can package together and save you some money.
The 18 Outrage was introduced in 1981 and was renamed the 19 outrage in years 1990 and 1991. The boat was re-introduced as the 18 Outrage in 1999 and 2000 with a new hull design. This is a really clean, dependable boat ready for a new home.
