Our family has loved and cared for this boat since 2009. It has taken us on many adventures - skiing, tubing, kneeboarding and cruising. It has been used mostly on Lake Shelbyville in Central Illinois. It has also been on Traverse Bay and Lake Michigan once. The kids love the boat but they are growing up and there is no time left for boating after all of their other activities. It's a sad day, but we must let her go.
This 1997 Wellcraft bowrider has a smooth running 5.7liter V8. It is fast and strong. She starts up every time and runs for hours. I have not tracked the fuel efficiency, but we generally use about 30 gallons for a full, three day weekend with water activities for a couple hours in the morning and another couple hours in the evening. The fluids are changed every year when the boat is winterized. We replaced the impeller every three years. The last time was June 2014. New battery 2016. All gauges work with the exception of the Alt. gauge which gets hung up and requires a little tapping with your finger to bring it into place.
The seats and carpet are very clean and good condition with no rips or tears. The carpet is removable (not shown in pictures). We take the carpet out every time we store the boat and put it back when it is in use. The hull looks great. There are a couple black marks here and there from loading and unloading at the dock. The boat has a snap on cover that works great for storage and travel. There are a couple of broken snaps, but the cover stays in place very well. Extra prop (mounted prop is after market stainless)
The trailer is in decent shape with a little rust. Surge brake was replaced a couple years ago with electric brakes. It works and rides very well, but the appearance is just OK.
The boat can be seen in Urbana, IL. If you want to start it up, we can run it using the hose muffs.
