2001 Sea Ray 240 Sundancer - excellent condition

Up for sale is a very clean 2001 Sea Ray Sundancer 240. This boat has been extremely well taken care of with very little signs of any wear. This is what drew me to purchasing the boat. Boat has always been used in freshwater and has meticulous maintenance records dating back to boat’s purchase. I purchased this boat from my friend/neighbor who I trust implicitly, he takes excellent care of his things. While I was using the boat with my family, I hurt my back while trying to do things on a knee board that I remember from my youth. I no longer believe that boating is in my future. Hope someone else can make good use of this boat.
The following is a good bit of information regarding the boat:

Trailer: the trailer is an all-aluminum EZ Loader. Much time and money were spent to put trailer into tip top travel shape. Within the last month all tires were just replaced on trailer with very nice Goodyear trailer tires. Both entire hub/brake assemblies were replaced with new ones as well as the surge brake tongue assembly. All brake lines have been replaced as well as high quality synthetic brake fluid utilized. Rear trailer light stop/turn assemblies replaced with nice LED assemblies. Everything on trailer is in perfect working order. The trailer alone is worth 4-5K.

Interior, upper deck: all upper deck interior items are in great shape. Interior shows no wear and seating upholstery has no rips, tears, fading, or blemishes. Carpet is on great shape and was not even used. I took it out of box and snapped it back into place. Glass and all bright metal are in great shape. Everything on helm console works as it should. My neighbor just had a Garmin 742S GPS MAP PLUS installed. He paid $2300 for it. There is a lot of neat stuff on there and I’ve barely scratched the surface regarding all its functions. Both Biminis are in great shape and boat also has that snap on cover that covers from the windshield to the stern when not in use. Also has 2 prop rods that go up into the middle to tint the cover and make water runoff. There is also a case down below that contains the Eisen glass to cover in upper deck area. Upper deck area also has a table that can be stowed or installed. Downstairs stereo can be played topside and has remote controls at console.

Interior, lower deck: lower deck area is also in great shape. Has a head with sink and shower. Head can be emptied manually or vacuumed out from a connection top side. Boat also has a hot water heater for sinks and shower with a 20 gallon fresh water tank. Kitchen area has a gas stove, 12v refrigerator and a sink. 5 lower deck portholes open with screens to provide nice breeze downstairs as well as a top glass upper vent. There is also a second berth area under the stairs that sleeps 2. Tremendous amounts of storage are available downstairs. All life vests and any safety equipment required are present and goes with the boat.

Exterior: exterior finish is in great shape with a nice shine and no issues. Previous owner had it waxed at the end of every season (annual receipt records to support this). Boat has bottom paint and all bright metal and decals look very good. Boat also has swim platform with retractable ladder at the rear. Anchor and rope are present and in good shape. Boat also will have a nice set of 8 mooring lines and multiple bumpers. Same compartment also houses and outside shower head and hose as well as a very long shore power cord with 115vac adapter to plug boat in while in driveway. The boat is 24’ in length with I believe an 8’6” beam.

Mechanical: the 5.0 litre v8 engine is in very good shape and has been well taken care of as was the entire engine compartment as you can see from the pictures. Belt, hoses, and fluids are all very good. Total time on engine is 600 hours. The Bravo 3 lower unit stern drive is in good shape and has just had its oil changed. Everything works great and the exhaust boot is good along with gimble bearings. If I was going to keep the boat, I had planned on repainting the lower unit to a shiny gloss black and install new Mercruiser stickers. Cosmetically this is the only parts of boat that shows some age. Both batteries were just replaced with new marine batteries. Boat is also equipped with trim tabs to get on plane faster. Boat cruises very nicely and most fuel efficient at 32mph. Boat is very reliable, and I would not hesitate to go anywhere with it.

In my opinion, this Is a lot of boat for the money and if you are looking for a nice well-built and incredibly cared for cruiser, this might be it. Boat comes with all manuals and impeccable maintenance records. Boat will be made available to all 3rd party inspections should you so desire. Please look at my feedback. I’m not in the habit of selling anything that I wouldn’t be pleased with purchasing myself.
