This boat is in TRULY BEAUTIFUL condition, as it SHOULD be with such extremely low hours!! It HAS been used in salt water so it HAS been bottom painted. If you're planning on using it in salt water then of course this will make no difference to you obviously, and in fact, it's a HUGE bonus, and I'll tell you why.....
When I was shopping for a boat, I looked at some "fresh water" boats, and quickly discovered that many, a great many, had more issues from living in warm lakes than any salt water boats I had seen! (WAY more growth in warm water lakes than you think!) And most had WAY WAY more hours! Think about it....do you want to buy a boat with 800 hours just because it was used in fresh water? It STILL has HUGE wear and tear no matter WHAT kind of water it's floated in!!! MY boat has ONLY 120 HOURS SINCE NEW! There is NO SUBSTITUTE for LOW HOURS. Don't make the mistake of thinking otherwise!
To make matters worse, I found out that the first time you bottom paint a boat, it's actually VERY expensive, since the bottom has to be professionally prepped, a line has to be created in water, then the boat has to be pulled for painting, then re-launched again, all extra expenses. So this one has already had all that DONE and now the re-paint, when it's time, is FAR easier and FAR less expensive to do! (I got estimates of up to $2500 for a "first time" bottom painting job on boats that never had it!)
Most folks who look at salt water boats DO have a legitimate concern though, and that's the effects of the salt water on the manifolds and risers (and heat exchangers and water pumps, etc). I get it! I felt the SAME WAY.
NOT TO WORRY HERE!!
I just spent $3600 for NEW manifolds and risers and a new water pump, and complete servicing of the ENTIRE BOAT to restore it to factory new performance, including both the engine AND outdrive. The boat takes my family out on the water and I am a FANATIC about "preventative maintenance". I do projects like this PRO-ACTIVELY so that we will NEVER get stuck out on the water. That's why I had this work done. I will NOT let myself be out in the position of "wondering" whether my boat is "perfect" mechanically. I have to KNOW that it is! So I got it done by certified Mercury mechanics and now I know my boat is "as new" under that cool electric-lift engine hatch.
I also replaced the outmoded in-dash chartplotter with a brand new Raymarine A68 with Wi-Fi, right in the dash so it looks like a factory install. The outdated network was upgraded to the modern NMEA2000 system and the boat now has sonar and downvision, really helpful, especially if you're a fisherman or navigate in shallow waters. It also allows you to bluetooth in your music wirelessly!
With only 120 hours and this huge restoration work, you are basically getting a new boat at a fraction of the price of a new one! In fact, a NEW Sea Ray SLX equipped like mine is now retailing for about $160,000!!!! YES, it's true! Look it up yourself to verify what I am telling you! You'll save $100,000 by buying my boat, only a few years old and in TURNKEY CONDITION! It needs NOTHING but a new owner!!!
OK.....so if this Sea Ray 270 SLX is so fantastic, why am I selling it???
My wife wants to get her boating license, and this boat is more than she is ready for as a new boater. While it handles like it's on rails for an experienced, even a moderately experienced boater, it intimidates my wife (let's face it....this is a BIG bowrider, at almost 29 feet long, don't kid yourself!), and she'd like something smaller, and I have promised to accommodate her. I want to see her fulfill her dream just as she has helped me fulfill mine!
In fact, I will even consider something smaller if there is a boater out there looking to move up to something bigger and more luxurious than what they have now. Let me know what you've got! (I'm also looking for a big SUV that has 7-8 passenger seating like an Escalade ESV or an Infinity QX-56, as a couple examples.) In other words, if you have something of value to put towards this boat, we can make that work!
I am going to miss this boat TERRIBLY! It's truly a "dream boat" and in fact there's even an article reviewing it on-line that described the feeling of owning one as knowing "you've arrived", and I can attest to how true that is! You'll feel like a multi-millionaire pulling up to your favorite local seafood restaurant with this high-end day boat, one of the most luxurious big bowriders on the market!
This wonderful boat has been adult owned and adult driven and NEVER abused. It is simply fantastic! Sea Ray really hit it out of the park on this one! You OWE it to yourself to own the VERY BEST, so don't miss this one!By the way, no, a trailer is NOT included, but I will help any way you need me to help with your shipper. I have the title in-hand and it will be released upon full payment in US Currency ONLY. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Please email with any questions and I will get right back to you!!
I welcome on-site inspections and if you come to see it, bring your checkbook, because I KNOW that you'll fall in love with it!! This really is, as one article out it, a boat that makes you feel, "you have arrived!" Nothing says "SUCCESS!" like a big, beautiful Sea Ray! Come check it out and see for yourself!
Just one more thing and I do NOT want to end this wonderful listing, which I hope conveys to you what an awesome boat this is and what a terrific person I am to deal with, on any kind of negative note, BUT......If you have to get the "green-light" from your wife, girlfriend, boyfriend, priest, rabbi, town mayor, pet rabbit, or the leftover slice of pizza in your fridge, before making an offer, PLEASE DO SO. I had an experience recently where the "buyer" came and took the better part of the afternoon checking out every microscopic detail, along with not one but TWO mechanics/best friends, and then made a cash offer close to my asking price. The next morning when he was supposed to come get the boat he texted me, not called, texted, to say his MOTHER.....yes, his MOMMIE (the guy is 42 years old), didn't think he should be spending so much cash right now on a boat because his wife is expecting. WTF????? And he wanted his deposit back!!!OK. I got THAT out of my system. BUT PLEASE........make sure whoever's opinion it is that matters to you or yanks your leash is agreeable to this purchase BEFORE you make an offer. Fair enough? And YES, I gave him his measly $500 deposit back. What was I going to do........go on vacation to London with it? But I really don't need the hassle, so ask questions before bidding and get "permission" if necessary. I really AM an easy guy to work with but I just want "fairness" on both sides.
