elliott 65 sport boat
Description
1996 Elliott 6.5 Sport boat.
Build in Christchurch New Zealand she is probably the only 6.5 in the country. Light air rocket and planes easily in over 14 knts. Can sail with the J80's and correct out on the J70's. CurrentPHRF rating is 132.
Overall in good shape. * The (lifting) keel could use some work. I cleaned it up a little but I am no pro. Cosmetic crack at the keel/bulb joint. It is NOT going to fall off but needs a skilled hand (not mine).* Couple dings but no cracks/holes/etc. A little rain does get in the hold when it's a down pour.* Standing rigging good. * Running rigging great although it could probably use a new jib halyard.* SAILS INCLUDE (grading A is great, B very good, C ok for Wednesday Nights, Etc):- Two Mains: One A+, one practice/Wednesday night (C).- Two Asymmetric: One A, one B. The B is a little smaller and can be seen in the photos.- Two Symmetric: One almost new (red A+). One is a practice sail (C to C-). - Three Jibs: I am guessing on the sizes; * 135 %- Very Good. (B+) * 120 %- Good to Fair (C) * 90% - I have never used it but I would guess fair. (C?)- Heavy duty keel lift (not carried on the boat)- solid trailer. No lights so I use attachable lights.- No Outboard. Only needs about a 2 HP to get it moving at 5-6 knts.
NOTE: The 135 jib is a standard J22 jib.Same withthe older symmetric. They fit perfectly. Great way to get new sails (jibs & Symmetrics) relatively cheap.
I just started a business and have two small kids so I don't have the time to sail her. A great way to get into the sport boat crowd on the cheap. Ask if you have any questions.
MORE NOTES:
1) I removed part of the toe rail right about where people would hike legs out. There's still toe rail right behind the driver and forward of the cockpit. You can see it in the yard pictures.
2) Currently has two coats epoxybottom coating(White) with two more coats of good bottom paint. Currently kept in the water but is really easy to launch via hoist. OK to ramp launch. 3) Boat was dry sailed in New Zealand until about 2007. Then was dry sailed in California for afew years (mostly single & double handed races - light use) and I eventually brought it to the East Coast around 2012. Since being on the East Coast it's only been in the water a few times. This summer is the longest and it wasn't launched until July.
4) Boat is cold molded hull (marine plywood with a fiberglass skin).
5) Displacement about 1150-1250 lbs fully loaded.
