Glass Bottom Boat ( Passenger Tour Boat )
Description
This 1934 original glass bottom boat from Silver Springs Florida is the only remaining boat from this by gone era. Imagine the stories she could tell.
The 'Princess Donna' has been completely restored and modernly equipped and approved by (MSC) Marine Safety Center to operate as a USCG passenger vessel.
She has recently received her USCG COI to operate with 12 passengers and up to 2 crew members. Making her a serious money maker.COI and Stability Letter go with the boat. Standard USCG practice. Our COI is for river use. You can also operate it on other protected waters by adding an endorsement.Obtaining the COI was a very expensive and arduous process that included Naval architects and engineers to get involved to pass every required detail of The USCG Marine Safety Center MSC.
The boat is a US Documented vessel and has a MARAD waiver that limits it to 12 paying passengers. MARAD waivers are issued for foreign vessels and unknown builders. Since the boat was built 84 years ago on the property of Silver Springs FL there was no builder certificate because the amusement park back then had the boats custom built and they were used originally on private property. The boat comes with the US Documentation and a State of Florida boat title.
The boat is eco-freindly being powered by an electric motor just as she was in 1934. The motor is 48volts and has a 70 mile distance on one charge. The motor propels the boat at a max. 5.7mph. The motor was bought new during the restoration.
A custom built $10k trailer from National Trailers is included in this sale. It has less than 75 miles on it. Triple axles, brakes on 4 wheels. Pulls down the road like a dream. Also comes with a dock and boarding ramp system that is used for loading and unloading passengers safely.
The boat is turn key, including all safety equipment to start running tours immediately.
Every item on this boat was purchased new. From the start of the rebuild till now its been 2-1/2 years. The hull is wood and its overlayed in fiberglass just as it was originally.
Being that this is a wood boat, regular maintenance is part of owning a classic like this. These boats were built as work boats not like the fancy varnishedmahogany antiques you see on magazine covers and shows. These are painted/fiberglass epoxy over wood, which makes repairs easy and inexpensive.
This is a true piece of history and a once in a lifetime opportunity to acquire her. She really turns heads the few times we had her going up and down the river. We had been contacted by both the Discovery Channel and Nat-Geo Channel in the past for interviews but we declined because at the time she was still in her rebuilding stage.
Recent survey prior to obtaining the COI more than justifies the asking price. I'm making nothing on this sale, lots of money went into her to rebuild this last remaining piece of history.
If you want to make big money in the tour business and set yourself aside from every other ordinary boat, look no further, this is it. Running tours 7 days a week four times a day could gross you over 500K.
Serious inquires only. I won't entertain every question from tire kickers.
