1979 MacGregor 26' Sailboat

Great family starter boat ready for the water. Complete set up, boat, motor, trailer, and sails.If you are not familiar with MacGregors, this is a swing keel "trailer" boat. The mast comes down and stores atop the boat for travel and storage. Some owners trailer them around like weekend fishing boats, but raising the mast is truly a chore. I only launched in the spring and hauled out for the winter. The boat is an "easy to learn" coastal sailor, not intended for open ocean.We moved from the ocean to a lake and used the boat for 3 years on the lake without the mast. It also served as a floating spare bedroom since it can sleep 3-4 people in the enclosed cabin and has a portable chemical toilet.It is in very good condition for its age. There are some chips and scratches in the gelcoat, the fiberglass for the keel housing shows wear, but no true hull damage. Comes with a full set of good sails (main, jib, and Genoa) and a running 1987 Mercury 9.9 hp, 2 stroke longshaft motor. The motor runs well, but corrosion from it's time in the Atlantic has eaten away at the shaft housing some.Delivery within 25 miles could be arranged.
