The construction of the boat used used well seasoned wood including Port Orford cedar on oak frames with bronze fasteners, a teak keel and very hard non-porus teak on the amazing interior. Her spars re spruce. The original specs also called for a huge variable pitch propeller powered by Buda 150hp Silver Crown diesel engine. The hull was recently redone and the Buda has less than 25 hours after a major rebuild. She is 64 feet long with a 13.5 foot beam and 6 foot 4 inch draft. Her displacement is 61,712 lbs.She glides through the water like a ghost.She has a recent survey, that shows her replacement value,if built today, at over two million dollars.
Always maintained. Many articles have been written about NAVIT, her heritage, history and consturction. The present owner has owned her since the 1980’s and has upgraded systems and structure while maintaining here classic heritage.I don't have the time to pay the attention to her that she deserves and I am trying to find a good home for her. I will look at trades.
