Up for auction, I am selling my 1986 26' Seaway center console powerboat.
UPDATE: I recently tried to send a few more photos and a couple of short videos to a few people. I tried texting but they weren't sending. Please text me and give me your email & I'll try it that way. I just returned from Florida where I had to secure my mothers waterfront condo & don't know if the info I sent to several people due to sketchy internet service. Please contact me with any questions
I purchased this several years from an estate where the boat had sat in storage for twelve years. The previous owner was an elderly gentleman who became ill and the boat went into storage where It was covered and under a roof so aside of being quite dusty, it looked beautiful.
The boat was built by the well known commercial boat builder "Seaway". They are best known for their lobster boats, trawlers and rugged offshore crabbing boats but they also build these great center consoles with the "down east" lobster boat style.
New 75 gallon gas tank
The boat came with a new but not installed Gil bracket which is a new style,rectangular/sealed motor mount.
I just painted the bottom with Micron CSC and put it in the water. Since the photos were taken, I have sanded/refinished the teak. Funny, the more I do, the more I want to keep the boat now but I have two kids 420 sailboats, a 17' Whaler and a 50' Hatteras. The Seaway was the last thing I needed but it was just so damn cool that I had to have it! My grand plan was to paint it in Awlgrip's "Stars and Stripes" (you have to look up ths color and imagine this boat in that color Oh, my, god! This will be the best looking boat anywhere!
The 10' wide beam and small keel make it the most agile boat I've ever run on the Long Island Sound! It's large bow eats up the typical 1-3' chop and it doesn't roll when at anchor.I repowered it with the best maintained Yamaha 225 you will ever find! Tony (Yamaha mechanic) at Beacon Point knows the motor and he said he replaced everything on a yearly basis weather it was needed or not. I bought it from another member from Riverside Yacht Club as the company he works for (executive who deals with Merc) gave him a new 250..
We used the boat for a little cruising, tubing with the kidsand fishing but I haven't used it enough to justify keeping it.
There is a cuddy cabin which sleeps two adults comfortably and space under the removable "V" access panel for a porta potti or you could build in a plumned system.
I also have a NEW Gil Marine outboard motor mounting bracket which came with the boat. There is a forward dodger (covers the front seating area) with blue Sunbrella material and clear plastic to see through as you're driving. It had a full (new) bimini top but the someone took it as it was stored for several years out of sight. All the mounts are still there so it's easy to buy a stock one on Ebay & just bolt it on.
It comes with the Nextrail tandem axle trailer ($10,700 new), which is in excellent condition and is completely long distance road worthy. There are two stainless steel props (3 and 4 blade) and the new (two year old) helm seat/leaning cushion.
I have a 1 minute video I can text to you if you send me your phone number. I also have a screen shot of the boat running at 39KM which is about 25 mph. I know it's faster but I haven't had it serviced since I just put it in the water after 2 years,
Please ask questions before bidding. Buyer is responsible for shipping. If you are semi local in the tri state area (CT/NY/NJ) I might be able to help. If not, Uship.com drivers can do this and it's just like Ebay where trucker bid on the shippment and they have feedback ratings. I have used them many times for big/bulky items nd trailer cars and boats.
Thanks for looking and I hope to hear from you regarding questions! Feel free to text for a faster response. Check out my feedback!!! I've sold classic cars, boats, ultra expensive art and more big dollar items and not ONE bad review! Over 700 positive feedbacks!
Feel free to set up a time to come see it in person in Riverside, CT. It's in the water so serious buyers can go for a ride!
Thanks,
