Please Read The Complete Description Before Bidding. Especially Pay Attention To Time Requirements.
1975 Albin Vega 27 Project Sailboat. The boat is listed for sale with NO reserve and is advertised in "as is, where is" condition. The boat is currently located at a marina in Sneads Ferry, NC 28460. Marina fees are covered until the end of August 2017. The fee to place the boat back in the water is already been paid. The boat has a clear title and there are no liens.
This is important: THE WINNING BIDDER MUST CONTACT ME WITHIN 48 HOURS OF AUCTION END. DO NOT BID UNLESS YOU PLAN ON COMPLETING THE TRANSACTION. THE NEW OWNER MUST HAVE BOAT TRANSFERRED INTO THEIR NAME AND MAKE ARRANGEMENTS WITH THE MARINA FOR PAYMENT OR REMOVAL WITHIN A WEEK OF THE AUCTION END. I reserve the right to relist the boat or transfer it to a different party if conditions are not met. I do not have the luxury of time on this. I want the boat out of my name before the rent is due. The stands that the boat are sitting on belong to the marina.
Now about the boat... Do a little research on the internet and you will find that the Albin Vega is considered an excellent, solid first boat and is very sea worthy. With some TLC this could be your great escape. I personally don't know very much about this particular boat or sailboats in general. I bought it from the guy who started the restoration. He learned to sail on her and was restoring her when he purchase a larger boat. He assured me that there are no serious defects with her. I honestly bought the boat because it had a great outboard. I have since removed the motor. The motor is NOT include in the sale.
The boat comes complete with a main sail, 2 jib sails, a Genoa and a storm sail. You can actually sail her away if you like there is just no interior. The previous owner gave me some pieces and parts to put the interior back together but it will take some work. The V-berth and saloon cushions are included. There is no head, no galley, no stove, no cooler or fridge. The inboard motor has been removed and the prop shaft hole has been professionally sealed. Boat will need to be powered by outboard kicker. There are Yamaha controls in the cockpit but I'm not sure of the condition. There are many spare parts including hull paint, non slip paint.
Low NADA Retail on this boat is $7850.00

Per the previous owner, rent at the marina where she is located is $250.00 a month.
The boat can be worked on in the yard where she sits. There even appears to be power available via extension cord.
