Classic all-wood ketch Morning Star. Not for the casual sailor, the Morning Star is a classic, and one of only 31 Sea Witches ever made by American Marine in Hong Kong. This one is a '62.
She is in need of a full renovation, with fully restored Sea Witches valued at well over $100,000. She has a new and functioning inboard diesel, a sound hull, and an absolutely stunning lines. The masts were removed for inspection, and are at a nearby boatyard. There are no spars (she's a gaffe rig), we have only some of the original rigging and we do not have sails for her. I do have contact info for the boatyard that did her full restoration in the 80's, and they can perhaps offer guidance to your shipwright.
Low draw, about 6 feet, and 8 opening ports for excellent ventillation.
The boat was my father's, who passed away. I am not a sailor, but would like to see this beauty go to a good home.
The photos we have on the ad are the most recent, and offer an excellent idea of the condition. Again, this is a perfect boat for somebody with an aim towards restoration. Please feel free to reach out with any and all questions, and don't be shy about making a serious offer.
