1962 Cheoy Lee Sailboat
Description
1962 Cheoy Lee full keel sailboat with custom trailer. Four years into the restoration I bought a much larger boat. This one will be for sale until the first of the year "as is" after that I will finish and want much more for it. The boat is solid teak with a spruce mast. The mast is finished and ready to step. It was custom built with a masthead rig rather than standard fractional. It is keel stepped. The cabin roof was replaced with fiberglass over marine plywood. The decks were replaced with teak over fiberglass over marine plywood. All new tanks built and ready to connect. Deck fittings are installed. New Volvo engine and transmission installed with stainless folding prop. The engine is a bit newer and larger than what came with the boat but fit nicely. Garmin 740s Chartplotter with matching sonar, marine radio, masthead antenna, inverter battery maintainer and battery isolator all new. 30 amp shore power. Coldplate fridge works on 110 an automatically switches to 12v when shore power unplugged. Two burner lpg cooktop. All seams in hull were hand packed with cotton and sealed with slick seam . Four coats bottom paint were applied. All new upholstery . Everything except the head and teak hull is new. I have all documents. The trailer was made from an airstream carriage with the thickest "I" beams I have ever seen. I have pulled it more than 1,000 miles with no problems. This is a beautiful and functional boat. The dragon carvings inside the cabin are still intact and the tiller was made with a dragon head carved in the end.
