1978 Wesco runner bottom drag boat
Description
Up for auction is this 1978 Wesco 5/8" runner bottom drag boat. It is a lightweight hull with a beautiful parquet balsa floor. It comes complete with everything seen in the pictures. Casale V-drive with 22 gears that was completely gone through with new bearings, seals, and a prop release by JJ Beaver at BeaverFab out of Covington Texas. Blown fuel type driveline and couplers. Prop shaft, steel 11 1/2 X 15 prop, throttle pedal and cable, up and down pedal and linkage, 2 stainless fuel tanks. Complete newly fabricated steering system and strut brace. Not pictured is two fiberglass bucket seats. They will need new covers which snap onto the shells. The boat was set up with a big block Mopar and I do have a bell housing that can go with it if needed. The exterior has the normal wear and tear for a 38 year old boat but is sound and solid. We were going to sand it down and do a custom paint job on it and had pulled the hardware and engine out but got busy with other projects and it has been sitting in storage for around 13 years. We are adding onto our shop and decided to sell it rather than move it to another storage area while we work on the building. I happened across this You tube video of either an identical boat or this exact boat, and the video was filmed in Iowa where we are located so it could very well be the same boat. ( We moved the engine location forward to combat the hopping seen in the video. With a bit of down pedal the boat took a nice set even before we moved the engine mounting) https://youtu.be/FBmp82Nj-8E This is a no reserve auction starting at less than the V-drive rebuild cost. Winning bidder will be responsible for pickup and transportation. Trailer is included. Clear title for both boat and trailer. Any questions please ask and it is being sold as is. Good luck
