For sale a 2004 Monterey Montura 228 LC Cuddy Cabin, in good condition and well maintained. This is the perfect multipurpose boat excellent for cruising, entertaining and fishing. These types of Cuddy Cabin boats are hard to find especially in this size.

ENGINE

Engine is a Mercruiser 350 Mag V8 installed brand new in 2011 (Receipt available) with approximately 365 hours. With Duo Prop Stern drive.

MAINTENANCE - PARTS

In the last year I have replaced in due time the thermostat and thermostat housing, updated all gauges, installed new water pump and bilge pump, new alternator, crank sensor, relay housing, a set of two new batteries (receipt available for warranty), new impeller, Manifolds risers and propellers.

CABIN

The Cabin can hold four regular sized adults sitting and two adults and two kids under 7 years when converted to a bed. Storage under the three removable seats. Has small sync with flowing fresh water. There is also storage space for a Porta Potty (Included - never used). Small DVD player and screen for entertainment. Finally, the cabin has two hatch windows that helps lighting to get in and well as wind circulation. Sound system connect via bluetooth to stream your music for any phone or player.

From all the amenities, the cabin is what I like the most. It can be used multiple ways. From Sleeping, napping or resting (specially during the Florida winter, it is nice), extra storage space, protection for people and equipment during rain or bad weather, a place for the ladies to change clothing without being exposed, among others.

----- IMPORTANT THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW -----

1- When turning the boat to the left, the steering wheel gets a bit heavy where you have to use both hands. I took it to the shop to figure what was the problem. I was explained that the hydraulic system is leaking fluid. When they try to replaced, one of the screws was damaged so they are unable to remove it unless the engine is lifted. For this repair I was quoted $900 for a new OEM hydraulic, $1,260 for labor (12 hours at $105 per hour). A total of $2,160 plus taxes.The boat can be used like that, but for your safety an others, please repair immediately after purchasing.

2- The hourmeter marks (as of 08/08/17) 85 hours. The real engine hours is 365. I had to replace the gauge as it died on me.

3- The original engine was a Volvo Penta 5.7. The previous owner had to replace and purchased a brand new Mercruiser 350 MAG in 2011 (receipt is available) The owner was advised (by the company who replaced the engine) the he could keep the Volvo Penta Duo Prop outdrive. It would save him money, keep a great duo prop (and since he had it on the water), composite material that does not get damage in the water. I paid for a Surveyor (receipts available) who reported good results.

4- The boat is located in a Marina in Dania Beach. Dry rack storage. No trailer available, you will have to take it by water or bring a trailer.

5- Free title and in my possession. Transaction should be fairly quick.
