1972 Cigarette boat 28' open 1 of 1 **No Reserve!!**

**Please realize this is a no-reserve auction ! That means you are bidding to win ! Also I received messages stating some bidders were unable to bid.. my advice would be don't wait until the last minute ! With that said Here We Go Again ..Unfortunately due to lack of use and the attention she deserves I'm selling my 1972 cigarette. 28 foot open configuration. Solid as the day it was popped out of the mold she's a beautiful boat that attracts plenty of attention alongside the newest toys. What originally attracted me to this boat was the color combination and the history which is documented in a spiral binder going back to day one. Boat was built for Formula 1 driver Mark Donohue who raced it with throttle man Roger Penske. During his ownership Brock Yates was also a guest for quite a ride on this boat. When Mark moved on to a larger and more powerful boat it was sold to good friend and owner of the IROC series Jay Signore. It was under his ownership where it received 400 cubic inch gear driven Chevy small blocks connected to Volvo drives. Also has a one-off custom teak rear deck. Boat has been babied it's entire life. It kills me really to even List It but unfortunately I don't have the room to keep it inside on display. I've used it a handful of times and it's spent more time out of the water being washed and waxed and occasionally serviced. The black paint on the sides is in excellent condition along with the signature red stripe and decals. The bottom and top are completely original and have never been painted. The boat can use some TLC to take it to the next level and updating to your taste.. boat is available to be viewed in Freeport New York.
