1964 Century Sabre mahogany runabout with hardtop and trailer, NO RESERVE
Description
This is one of the nicest Century Sabres I have ever seen. I am a volunteer with the New Hampshire Boat Museum in Wolfeboro and helping them sell this boat. The previous owner states that the hull is very solid with no rot and seals up each spring within 2 days, bottom paint is virtually new, beautiful fiberglass hardtop with gull-wings that open on each side for easy access, very good varnish, all instruments work, excellent upholstery. Grey Marine V-8 is clean and powerful with new water pump impeller and recent lower end rebuild. Tandem trailer has 4 new tires. The boat has spent its entire life on cold, clear Lake Sebago in Maine and only used during the short New England summers. The previous owner indicates that two things need looking at: the starter sticks occasionally requiring a tap with a mallet and one of the screws on one of the hardtop wings has broken, both issues requiring minor repairs. I have carefully researched the value of a Century Sabre of this vintage and have seen the following listed price: $10,000 for a fixer-upper, two boats at $14,500 each, one at $24,000, and another at $32,500. So, as you can see, the previous owner's comments are positive and several of us at the Museum have looked over the boat and it certainly looks good. But, it is offered "As Is." The boat is stored inside at a marina in Wolfeboro so if you'd like to see it in person during the auction, please contact Lisa Lutts, executor director of the New Hampshire Boat Museum. Go to nhbm.org for contact information. Deposit of $500 to be made to my PayPal account and balance (cashier's check or cash) to NHBM upon pick-up. You can use one of several boat shipping services if you wish but that will be your responsibility. Payment in full of course before pickup.
