Description

1985 15' Boston Whaler Sport Mark I, with perfect 2005 Yamaha 70 2-stroke motor, 2012 galvanized trailer. This is a FRESH WATER boat and has never been used in salt water. We have used the boat exclusively in New Hampshire on a cold, clear, fresh water lake. Here are the details:
BOAT: I bought the boat in 2012 and put in a new interior with all new wood, railings, and new comfortable seating with a back rest (a real upgrade from the regular Sport model), all new stainless steel hardware and navigation lights from Specialty Marine. The hull has never had any paint on it. The exterior fiberglass is smooth and shiny. I filled and and re-gelcoated some scratches on the bottom this spring. The interior is very good and has some of the typical Boston Whaler gelcoat crazing. I installed a manual jack plate that allows for more performance without any risk of overheating. There is also a brand new full cover for trailering. The classic 15 Whaler rides much better than the 13 footer and is a lot more fun to drive than the 17 foot Montauk.
MOTOR: I bought the 2005 motor in 2012 from a gentleman who had the motor on a pontoon boat on a lake in South Carolina. It looks like a new motor, extremely clean, absolutely zero rust or corrosion. Talk to your mechanic....these Yamaha 70 2-strokes are bullet-proof, long-lasting, and durable. The compression is 120 psi in each of the three cylinders, just where it was when the motor was new. There is a beautiful stainless steel 19" pitch prop too. The motor starts instantly and pushes the Whaler at 43.8 mph (GPS). Acceleration is outstanding and more than adequate for skiing or tubing. Of course there is electric starting and perfectly operating trim and tilt.
TRAILER: It is a 2012 Magic Tilt galvanized model that has never been in salt water. It has the advanced torsion suspension and sealed wheel bearings so rust and water-intrusion are never a problem. There is a roller-jack and a new spare tire/wheel.
I have owned many Boston Whalers over the years and this is the fastest, best riding, and most fun of any of them. I'm selling it because I've purchased a Cobalt 22 for our New Hampshire place, a boat that kids and grand kids can all fit in. Despite that, it will be sad to see this wonderful Whaler go.
DELIVERY: We live in North Carolina and will be driving to New Hampshire and arriving on June 8. The boat can be picked up in Moultonboro on June 9 or 10. Or, if you live along the route north I could meet you at a convenient exit off the interstate. Of course, payment in full must be received beforehand.
