Boston Whaler fans around the country, this is the boat that you have been looking/waiting for. If you were looking for a Boston whaler that needs to be restored, this is not your boat :-). This is a gorgeous 38-year-old Boston whaler Montauk 17 Classic. It was garage kept most of it's life, with the exception of about 6 years. It has many upgrades including, Garmen Echomap 9SV, 24 gallon Poly Moeller gas tank, SeaStar Hydraulic Steering, Bimini Top, Heavy-Duty Cooler Seat, hospital bed rails, bow rail, and 8 Lee's Miami Stainless Steel Rod Holders. Even though it is not pictured, I do have the original pedestal seat that goes on the front of the boat. I removed it, because my family prefers to just lounge on the bow. There is also a grab rail that was removed from the helm, I still have it and it will be included. I removed it so that people could more comfortably sit on the cooler seat. I do not have a full cover for the boat, but I do have a pilot seat cover, and a helm cover. Every bit of wood on the boat is teak. It has never been varnished, and has been maintained with teak oil. I also ordered replacement helm panels for the gauges/electronic switches. I haven't installed them on the boat, but will include them.
This fiberglass hull is in excellent condition for its age, and only has a few blemishes, none of which penetrate through the fiberglass. The trailer is also a 1980 model. It has leaf springs in the rear, and rollers through the spine. New tires were installed in November 2017.
In November 2017, Beck's Outboard performed a complete tuneup on the Evinrude 100HP Commercial Outboard motor. It was a little over $1100 worth of maintenance. The motor has perfect compression, starts easily, and has a top speed of close to 40 miles an hour. Currently, the motor has just over 500 hours. Another interesting thing that I would like to point out is that the original owner maintained this motor by spraying it with a dielectric water repellent grease since new. You will notice in the pictures, the motor is extremely clean and mostly rust/corrosion free.
Recently, the RPM gauge has stopped working, and the steering has a leak at the helm seal. I plan to have these two issues corrected, or they can be negotiated off the price of the boat.
