1986 Bayliner 1950 Capri

1986 Bayliner 1950 Capri project. I bought this boat in 2009 in full working condition from the original owner. The interior had been reupholstered the year before but the floor was soft in front of right rear seat (where everyone boards from the swim platform). The floor was replaced from the engine bay up to the front windshield area and new marine carpet was installed. At the same time, the hull was sanded and refinished with Awl-Grip, the lights and horn were replaced, the Garmin GPSmap 168 Sounder and AM/FM radio and speakers were installed. The rub rail was replaced with new along with the shift cable and fuel sender. I ran the boat for 2 years on Lake Erie (it has never been in salt water) until it developed another soft spot in the bow flooring. The boat sat inside for 3 years waiting for the floor to be repaired. I finally got the floor repaired 2 weeks ago and cleaned the boat up. I got it running in my driveway and took it out on the water. It ran wonderful. I put it back on the trailer and had planned on giving it a tune-up and storing it until spring to sell it. When I started doing the tune-up, I found that the engine block is cracked on both sides. So here it is for sale now. The highlights for the boat are below, this is definitely a project boat that will need the engine block replaced and there are additional soft/deteriorating spots on some of the interior pieces but the hull of the boat and main floor appears still solid. Boat comes with Escort trailer in good condition. This will make someone a great winter project that can be ready for spring on the water. Boat averages 37-40 mph and is a great ski boat.
