Bayliner Capri 1952
Description
Start with the trailer. LOADRITE trailer. Last fall, 2014 - Brand new Hubs and Bearings. New Lights. New Winch. All new Rollers. No worries or troubles with this Trailer. The Boat. 1989 Bayliner Capri Cuddy Cabin. Cabin has slept my 3 small kids on overnights. Has a port a potty included for the ladies on long trips. Boat was used in Brackish waters. Cuddy is nice to keep your extra jackets, clothes, gear out of the weather. Good to nap in on a long lazy day as well. Fabric on one cushion is worn and needs attention. Sunroof hatch opens. Has fan as well. Fire extinguishers in cuddy. Also has a dome light for overnight stays or coming in after dark. Bow and stern lights work. The passengers seats are stock. The drivers side seats were removed and installed a high captains chair that is adjustable. MUCH nicer than stock setup as you can see over the windshield if wanted. Behind the captains chair are four catches to hold a cooler for food or fish. People sit on the cooler if you have a full boat. All the instruments gauges work. Engine temperatures are normal at 175 degrees. Comes with ship to shore radio which picks up sea conditions and weather as well as emergency calls. Comes with depth and fish finder. Dash lights up as well. Tachometer and Speedometer work fine. Oil pressure gauge works as well. Fuel gauge works also.Passenger seats fold out to lay flat to sun or sleep. Has 2 other seats behind that. People also sit on the engine compartment cover.Boat was refurbished in 2008. Installed a brand new 3.0 181 cubic inch Chevrolet Long block in 2008. Engine is strong and pushed boat to 41 MPH before bottom was painted. maxes out at 39 now. Power trim works. Stern drive was tuned and serviced last summer. 2014 also had the throttle and shift cables replaced with new ones. The head came off last fall and was given a valve job and head was re-surfaced as well. New exhaust riser manifold installed this month. Starts and runs fine. Stainless Steel propeller. Hydrofoil to launch boat on a plane quicker. The wood on the boat was rotted here and there in 2008. I replaced all the rotted floors and the under insulation at that time. New foam insulation. New pressure treated floors and seat boxes, covered in fiberglas and resin, then painted. Better than new. Replaced the carpet at that time as well. Has a fiberglas swim platform and stainless ladder. What it needs - nothingWhat it could use - sunbrella fabric is worn on the top deck from the sun. Port side rear seat is original and fabric is bad, should be replaced. cuddy cushion is torn and could use a new cover. Transom plate was removed and greased last year. Boat shop said the plate is tight but usable. Could be replaced to steer easier. Boat steers fine as is. Boat was run today as of this posting. Runs fine, temps and pressures fine. Lower unit is fine. Boat is 26 years old. with an eight year old motor. As all used boats, this one is sold as is, as seen. No warranty expressed or implied. I've done my best to list everything good and bad about the boat. It's a good and fun boat. We've just outgrown it. Time to move on.
