This is an amazing example of the 242 Islander from Baja that is extremely popular, yet rarely found. This boat was sought out for over a year and was found in Iowa originally, yet now resides in PA. My job causes moves across country, and we are selling until we are settled, yet we will miss this boat greatly. The 242 Islander starts out as a great family boat, and is large enough to take extra families along with you. This particular example of Islander has over $10,000 in professionally dealer installed extras to make it the ultimate family weekender. It also includes an aluminum custom trailer with tandem axles and disc surge brakes which make it easy to tow, with a long neck to eliminate sway or inappropriate road manners. It also is great because with the 6.2Liter engine it tops out at around 57 mph and yet still will cruise at 30 mph and get a great 3.8 MPG. We have gone the whole summer with 1 fill up for each of the 2 summers we have had it now. The captains call exhaust is great, because it turns it into a burbling power boat V8 sound to a family cruiser sound with the flip of a switch.
